Transformation as a way to Realize Magic.

Where water, landscape, and city converge, reactivating existing structures into new public territories.

Wilk-Salinas Architekten — Berlin, 2004

Realizing Magic.

We believe that imagination is architecture’s most powerful tool. Since our founding in 2004, our passion has been to create magic from existing reality — discovering the unique potential of each place and transforming it into vibrant, contemporary and sustainable spaces.

Almost every one of our projects has a distinctive element that makes it special. Our strength lies in identifying, amplifying and translating that element into an intelligent, tailor-made architectural solution. We are not interested in spectacular gestures for their own sake, but in authentic answers that emerge from the context, history and concrete possibilities of each site.

We do not define ourselves as specialists in a single field, but as architects who love challenges and approach diverse tasks with openness.

German precision and Spanish sensibility shape our way of working.

Every project is a new opportunity for us to realize magic.

Wilk-Salinas Architekten was founded in 2004 in Berlin by Gilbert Wilk and Ana Salinas Mata. Over more than 20 years, we have grown from a small atelier into an experienced studio based in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

The early international breakthrough with the Winterbadeschiff (2005) on the River Spree marked the beginning of our continuous engagement with the transformation of places with strong identity. Since then, we have realized numerous projects, each with its own distinctive and unique element that we identify and enhance.

Our projects include the Grenz- und Museumshafen Berlin (competition win 2025), the Blumenpavillon in Fürst-Pückler-Park Branitz, the sustainable residential project Mühlweg for DEGEWO (with CO₂-reduced concrete and timber roof structure), among many other conversions and revitalizations.

Over the years we have worked in Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg and internationally (London, Dubai, Stockholm) — ranging from public cultural projects and residential buildings to complex infrastructure transformations.

Today we work with a stable team of seven architects. After two decades we remain true to our core idea: to create something special from what already exists, with respect, precision and creativity.

[ Our philosophy ]

We believe architecture can reveal the hidden potential of what already exists. Guided by “Transformation as a way to Realize Magic,” we transform structures and urban contexts into spaces that are precise, sustainable, and alive.

Team

From their headquarters in Berlin’s vibrant Kreuzberg district, Wilk-Salinas Architekten operates with a permanent team of seven internationally experienced architects, backed by a solid global network of planners, interior designers, and artists.

This collaborative framework allows the studio to hold a privileged position within the Spanish-German architectural scene, acting as a vital and creative bridge between both professional cultures.
